County offers coupons for senior farmers’ market

The Oneida County Office for Aging and Continuing Care is offering coupons for the 2021 Senior Farmers Market.
All participants must be 60 years of age or older and have proof of age if required. The participant must not have received coupons from another source, and only one coupon book will be distributed per one-person household. Two coupon books will be distributed per married couple, but each will have to sign a book.
A power of attorney can collect coupons for an elderly person, but must bring documents indicating them as POA, otherwise no coupon will be issued.
An attorney can only collect coupons with the New York proxy form signed by the participant, which can be sent to the participant by the Oneida County Office for Aging.
Coupons can be mailed after the necessary questions and paperwork have been completed to meet state and Oneida Office for Aging requirements.
Income guidelines for participating:
• Gross monthly income not exceeding $ 1,986 for a one-person household.
• Gross monthly income not exceeding $ 2,686 for a married couple or two-person household.
• Gross monthly income not exceeding $ 3,386 for a three-person household.
All participants must meet age and one of the income eligibility criteria for coupons.
Each SFMNP checkbook is worth $ 20 and contains five $ 4 checks.
Coupons can only be used to purchase local fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as cut herbs only. Last year’s coupons cannot be used, and if the coupons are lost, they cannot be replaced.
