Coroner ID suspect in the Boise shopping center shooting that killed 2 | Business

The Ada County coroner identified the man killed as Roberto Padilla Arguelles, 49, of Rupert, who was pronounced dead in a hospital.
The gunman then walked through the mall, firing bullets into the ground, injuring a 52-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman. Another man was injured when he fell while trying to escape from the mall.
About three minutes after the initial report, the responding officers saw the suspect flee from the mall. They exchanged gunfire with the suspect in front of a nearby business along a busy road, with the suspect firing toward the road, according to the police department.
A 68-year-old woman who was in her car on the road was injured in the shooting, police said. An officer was also injured in the shooting and was treated and released from the hospital.
Police found 18 used shell casings inside the mall, and investigation shows the shooter had multiple guns and ammunition in the mall, the department said.
“We really can’t speak to any motivation behind this at the moment,” Lee said at a press conference Monday afternoon. âI cannot stress enough the trauma of this event for the community as a whole, as well as for those who witnessed it, or the families of those involved or involved themselves. “
Investigators were working to inform family members of those injured and killed in the shooting, Lee said at the time.
