Reliable cd\dvd writer?
i have in my pc 2x lg cd\vd writers(about 14mnthold) which dont perform well with dual layer media,any single layer dvd hasnt been a problem,have tried Aone,maxell,Datawrite,i get a %50 success rate be it burnt at 4x or 8x, at 2x it just fails to write,during viewing the disc i get a lot of picture breakup
Can anyone from experience recommend a reliable one?

I haven't done much DL burning, but my LG hasn't complained about Rivision.

I never had any luck with D/L discs in regular DVD players or ones that play avi files.
In fact I gave up and bought a media player. (well, actually I bought a NAS and an Apple TV - cracked with atvflash)
Not very helpful I know, but just thought I would add that its a painful experience, and if there is an alternative, perhaps its a good idea - because if you are giving these to people, they may have the same problem...
