Dr Who - Water on Mars - slight spoiler...

Anyone else expecting something a bit less cliched?

It just didnt do it for me - apart from anything else - how did those creatures manage to exude substantially more than their bodyweight in water - it just struck me as poorly thought out and the idea itself has been used in dozens of sci-fi shows over the years...

Old DT only has a few more - I hope he goes out with a good old bang as opposed to the whimper that I felt this to be...

(watched this in HD too - BBC are getting better at simultaniously broadcasting their biggest shows on BBC HD. Dunno if it really makes a difference, but it makes me feel better about all the money I spent on the big telly wink )

I was underwhelmed, as was my son.

I'm told lots of people tweeted praise shortly after the broadcast, but we were underwhelmed.

Disappointed. It seemed a bit of a waste and TBH the future base on Mars is more likely to be Chinese or Russian than multi-national.  Definitely not English as health & safety would never go for it.

Seriously though they had enough of a cast and budget to do something much better so I lay the guilt at the feet of the writers.

Unfortunately there was more water falling here in Wales than on mars.
Hope the next one is better
