Apart from "Probably not IKEA", I have no idea how to answer the following question, so I'd like to open it to the floor.
Does anyone do a TV stand that can hold:
32" LCD TV
Left, centre and right speakers.
Amplifier/Tuner.
Turntable.
Cassette Player.
CD Player.
XBox.
5-input SCART Switcher.
Thomson-branded sky box.
Humax Freesat HDR.
DVD Recorder.
Humax Freeview PVR.
VCR.
(And have space left for one or two more...)
Also, to control that little lot - Logitech Harmony One, or is there something else worth considering?
I'm out of my depth here, so thanks for any suggestions.

Yeah - I've got the telly on the wall and all the rest of the kit on an Ikea coffee table
You're making it tough with the record player though, because you need top access to that. Have you considered wall mounting the telly? From what I remember when you moved, your place is really not going to have partition walls which would lend themselves easilly to running the cables inside, but you can get conduits to mount on the wall for the cables...
Otherwise my background suggests a 19" cabinet. Half height one would still let you pop the telly ontop and a slide out shelf would be fine for the record player doesn't even have to be ugly...

A high end Hi-Fi shop might have something suitable.

The trouble with "DIY" is finding the right "Y". If I could do it myself it would be "DIM".
Worth talking to Richer Sounds, I wonder?
/me ponders...

That really seems to be in the DIY or find a carpenter realm to me and I sympathise as I hate DIY. I simplified by dumping a lot of stuff I didn't really use any more and now my TV sets stand deals with the HTPC and VM digibox that are all I use these days.
You might see if any local bods would give you a free estimate, it's a buyers market at the moment after all with the recession.

Pity you ruled out IKEA, you can pretty much make up your own unit etc for most of their stuff (very modular) and seems to be one of the few places doing stands with sufficient space for what you want....

Yeah OK, I admit it, we have a lot of Ikea furniture......but we like it.

We already have one from Ikea - actually a hybrid of two, because we like our TV high up. Why does everyone want them at 500mm or less? We like ours up at 750mm.
Would I be better going for something with a back-panel and panel-mounting instead? Ours is free-standing.

I agree - the unit we have ours on is higher than most others we saw in 'proper' shops, but it has been priceless in terms of hindering my 2 year old's efforts to get at the TV. Also seems the perfect viewing height from our Sofas the other end of the room.
When we got the LCD TV I was all for wall mounting and didn't like the old unit, but with hindsight this is a better option. (we have wallpaper in the front room and I would have had to bury the cables in the wall, it would have meant redecorating.)

I should clarify, when I said '32"' I meant '37"'. Still OK to mount on a back panel?
If I get the official mount, it's only available from Germany, it would appear, and costs upwards of £150. That's why free-standing is so attractive.

Mine is lower (on the Viera stand) but I watch from the comfort of a recliner sofa so I tend to be lower down myself when viewing movies. I was always put off the wall mounting type by the number I saw when working for an insurance claim evaluators including properly mounted ones. Some walls just aren't up to the task.
Shouldn't the manual state the safe rear clearance for proper ventilation?
Offline
Yup - 10cm top, sides and rear.
The recommended bracket is a TY-WK32LR2W, but that seems to be a bracket for a 32" screen, not a 37", so trying to find alternatives tends to give results that are not reassuring.

So I presume it's a Panasonic? The specification seems to state that bracket is for 26-32" sets.

Ah those wonderful people at Panasonic UK don't appear to have a section but this may be what you want so hows your French?

My French is pretty good (my Dad was French), but I've put an inquiry in with Panasonic UK to be absolutely sure.
On the other hand, the whole question has become academic in a sense, because Ikea have dropped the colour that I bought all of my book-cases etc. in, so I can't extend the range at all.
Therefore I suspect my best option is a floor-standing mount for the TV.
What a PITA.
I shall write a strongly-worded letter to Ikea. It won't help, but it will show my support for Royal Mail.

I always liked the official stand but there are no pets or small children so it's safe lower down. I would imagine if there were rugrats around I'd want to try a wall mount for it.

Well, since I can't get a back-panel for my existing stand (which is a chimera comprising one of these with one of these (without the back panel, to allow for cables) bolted to the top with one of these in, which provides an elevated position for the TV, somewhere for the centre speaker to go, and room for the stereo speakers either side of it), I'm thinking of getting one of these (though not at that price, alas!), which I am assured will hold my TV OK.
Looking at the drawing of the stand in profile, I can ditch the shelf if necessary, and have the foot of the pedestal fitting underneath the existing cabinet, with the TV in a position only a few mm behind where it is now. This will relieve the whole construction of the not-as-stable-as-I'd-like 27kg of TV that is sitting (balancing?) on top at the present.
I'd love a better and/or cheaper solution, but it has to be one that doesn't involve a hammer drill...

You'd think that there would be more solutions for A/V stuff but as I discovered when I went looking for some good DVD storage most of it is a bit rubbish TBH. I'm not fond of DIY myself but It came down to precut wood and the toolbox or nothing as the alternatives were both poor quality and over priced.
