Setting the “Followup-to:” header permits replies (”Follow-Ups”, in the context of Usenet/News) to be directed to the group(s) indicated in the header, instead of the group(s) to which the message is being posted.
Follow-Ups are occasionally referred to as FUs.
When composing a message, click “All Fields >>” (or press Alt + D) if the “Fields” list is not shown.
Scroll down the Fields List until you see “Followup-To”. Highlight it, and enter the appropriate group (e.g. blueyonder.discussion.general) into the box below the Fields List, now called “Value for Followup-To:”
When you hit reply, in the addressing area you get two drop downs labelled “group”, click the second of these and set it to “Followup-To:”, then enter the appropriate group (e.g. blueyonder.discussion.general) here.

When composing a new message or replying to a message, go to the View menu and select “All Headers”. This will show the “Followup-To:” field. Enter the appropriate group (e.g. blueyonder.discussion.general) here. Clicking on the “Followup-To:” text brings up a selection list, if you prefer.

In the Reply window, click the “Advanced Fields” button above the text area and set the appropriate group (e.g. blueyonder.discussion.general) in the “Followup-To:” text box. Click “OK” to continue.

When writing a news article, either as a reply to a previous one or when starting a new thread, click “Edit news header”. Type the name of the required newsgroup in the box labelled “Followup-To:”, then click OK.

Click in the “menu box” to the right of the “Followups”‘ header line and select the appropriate entry. If there’s no suitable entry just type straight into the “Followups” field.
