Derek “Benji” Farr

It is with enormous sorrow that we must announce the passing of Derek “Benji” Farr, the byUsers Webmaster and Forum Administrator.

Derek was more than just those two titles, though. He was the head of byUsers in every sense. The original web space for the Carton-123 site was courtesy of Derek, and when we made the change to byUsers it was Derek who was “signatory” to the web space blueyonder provided to us.

Derek was also well-known on the blueyonder newgroups for the invaluable testing he performed and assistance he gave on PWP as it developed, and was active in supporting disabled people as part of the Birmingham Disability Resource Centre.

He was also our friend.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to his widow, Silvia.

Derek, from Birmingham, was our Webmaster and the byUsers Administrator. He checked the site and was on hand to answer accessibility questions in relation to the Internet for people with Disabilities.
He also helped calm us down when the heat was on.

Derek was also involved with the Birmingham Disability Resource Centre.
